The Sanctuary handles deeply personal material. Here is exactly what happens to everything you share inside it.
Nothing is stored by default
When your session ends, it ends. No transcript is written to any server unless you explicitly choose to save it. The default state is complete impermanence.
Saving is your choice - and only yours
If you want a personal record of your sessions, you may choose to save them. This is an explicit opt-in during session setup, with a disclaimer you must read and accept before it activates. You can delete your saved history at any time from your account settings.
What is sent to the AI provider
Each message you send is processed by OpenAI via their API. This means your message and the immediate conversation context are transmitted to complete the response. OpenAI does not use API data to train their models. No identifying information beyond the message content is sent.
No staff access - by design
SRLHD staff cannot read your saved conversations. This is not a policy - it is an architectural decision. The only exception is a valid court order. What you share in the Sanctuary stays in the Sanctuary.

The Sanctuary is a space for reflection, processing, and thinking. It is not a clinical service and does not replace professional mental health support. If you are in crisis, the Sanctuary will always direct you to appropriate help.
